As a kid I used to hear old timers say putting a tank of 'Ethel' or
premium into a gas tank would help blow the pipes clean. IF true ( I
think not now but who knows? ) could you bump up the octane of the fuel
in the Diesel and cause a similar effect? By running that much hotter?
or would it just damage the exhaust system?
