Hi List,
A good point was brought up inside all this other OT stuff,
and that is the need for some kind of safety device that would
prevent the parking brake from being disengaged.
Take a piece of pipe that fits loosely over the adjustment end of the
Brake
handle. Cut off a section that is a little longer than the adjustment
portion.
Weld a cap in the end of the pipe. On the other end weld a half of a
chain
link on the pipe. Round the top of this off for looks and paint OD. Now
find a short piece of chain and secure to the floor or strut at a
convenient place. Get a ratcheting type long loop type lock and you have
a locked brake.
Placement of the point where you secure the chain to the floor or strut
should
be done so that it can hold the handle in place but the pipe can't be
slipped off
the end of the handle, yet allow for brake adjustment range.
Suggestions for improvements of this MV Brake locking device are
welcome.
