Bjorn's reading and information is right on the money too. The reasons the
military makes it reccomendations as it does is because of all the little funny
things that happen when towing a sprag equipped truck. As a retired
professional wrecker operator I can assure you towing the deuce from the back with the
front drive shafts removed is the best you can do. Also I assumed but failed
to advise, do this with an empty truck, not a loaded truck. You can fold up a
frame towing a loaded deuce from the rear. Another reason the military
cautions against lift towing is the whole axle adapter, towbar, whiffle tree,
oposing pivot point towing done by all but the HEMTT trucks is labor intensive and
peculiar to operate at best.
