Gene,
The heater kits were designed for the gas engine
and you will find several differences. Install
one petcock on the front right of the manifold.
You might have to drain some coolant and gently
heat the area around the plug so it'll come out.
There are three holes, two are plugged, use one
of these holes (near the temperature sender).
The other petcock goes just above the alternator,
You'll need a 1/2"x3/4" bushing. If you got a new
thermostat with the kit, don't use it because it's
likely to be the wrong one. Don't locate the heater
too close to the left side engine compartment panel.
Too close and you'll have trouble closing the panel.
Remove the instrument panel and glove box to access
the defroster duct connections. Make sure that you
locate the cable knob assembly where both cables
will reach their attachment points. Install the
breaker on the left behind the instrument panel and
the switch under it, on the dash lip, alongside of
the cable knobs.
