Lets have a reality check, this isn't Chobham we are talking here,
it is nothing exotic.
The secret to drilling armour is to use a slow cutting speed. Reduce
the drill RPM down to a few hundred (at most) a minute and the
armour will drill just like mild steel. Even face hardened armour
will be workable with slow rpm, just takes longer. Of course, plenty
of lubricant will make life easier.
The faster your drill speed the quicker your drill will blunt. The
slower the speed, the longer the drill will stay sharp and the more
material you will remove. Sounds weird, but it is established
practice.
Been there, done that.

Doug
