We had them hauling Troops all over the place at Fort Bragg in 1967. They
weren't used much by my basic training company because the CO believed in
running everywhere we went! Great old Sod he was, miss him dearly! :-)
I also saw them hauling Troops, (again we had to run everywhere, lucky me),
at Fort Polk when I was doing the "Tigerland" vacation thing. We got to
sleep outside, shoot all kinds of weapons, pull patrols, guard duty and
become nice victims of ambushes! It was a GREAT vacation, I highly
recommend it to everyone! At least we were still using the M-14, WONDERFUL
weapon!! Beats the heck out of the 16 and all of it's variants any
day..................
Best Regards & Happy New Year,
Ed
