In the 1994 movie "In The Army Now" starring Pauly Shore, the recruits are
shown arriving at the induction center in trailers, pulled by
civilian-looking tractors. The interiors of the trailers appear to be devoid
of seats, and to have been equipped with "subway car" type poles to hold
onto.
Poetic license or cinematic verity? One would assume that the movie makers
would not have come up with such an unusal contraption without some sort of
influence from their military advisors.
