Ebay recognizes and goes along with "handling fees". When you list an item
for auction the seller has the option to add a handling fee when shipping
cost is automatically calculated
(This was copied and pasted here):
"Packaging & Handling Fee
$
This will not be shown to buyers, but
will be included in your shipping total."
(There is a space/box to fill in the handling fee where the $-sign is).
Another big military surplus seller is "babyonebaby", Frank's Surplus, who
adds $3.00 to most shipping charges and says so in his/her description.
I have dealt with "foxholejoe" and accepted the additional shipping charges
before bidding.
I don't like to buy from either of these two, but they do have some unique
stuff at times and I just bite the bullet.
They both use recycled packaging materials (in my experience), so it's not
that the extra money goes to new boxes and bubble pack etc. Even free USPS
boxes turned inside out!
Some sellers also will not give you feedback until you have given them
feedback. That makes it hard to file negative feedback without getting one
in return for any reason, made up or real.
What follows is that these sellers may look a lot better than they really
are because people are afraid to give them feedback.
