You usually get white smoke when glow plugs are not hot enough or injectors
spray not fine enough mist.
With a bad pressure switch I would get white smoke when I tried to start and
it would not catch no matter how long I cranked starter. If I plugged the
block heater in overnight, it would start in the morning in 50 degree
weather.

I just re read your email. You have not replaced the plugs yet? Have you
tried starting after plugging in block heater overnight? If there are no
glow plugs, how are you getting chamber hot enough to ignite diesel?

I don't know about the injectors, I bled the lines and had fuel at all
8, and I'm getting white exhaust, so I ASSume the injectors or working.
My glow plugs fried years ago, I start her with ether (not much), it
doesn't do no harm as long as the plugs do not turn on. But I may do the
manual button thing with non-swelling plugs once I get the beast
operational again.
