Something else, if I remember correctly, is that these trucks can
only go about 35 -> 40 mph. You won't be setting any land speed
records this way.

I see them on Ebay all the time in my area (Mid Atlantic) for $5000 to
$10K at the top end. I believe there is one listed right now in PA for
$6500 in excellent shape, although not green in color.

I suspect frame will need to be lengthened and a bed made by grafting two or
more 5 ton beds together, I do not have any books on the 125 truck but
having seen pictures of 125 - we have a 123 -- the 125 apperars to be longer
than 123

How hard would it be to convert a -123 tank tractor to a clone of the
M-125 10-ton prime mover? I see the 123s going for good prices all the
time, but the -125s are rare and pricy. It doesn't matter to me if the
clone has the -123's diesel engine. Just want opinions on how difficult
it would be to graft the fifth wheel hitch off, and graft a 5-tonner bed
  on. Thanks,

  Mike
