David,
Here's a chance to show this new MVer (and veteran) how rock-solid guys in this hobby are and to demonstrate to some lowlife with an attitude that he'll have to do a lot more than scrape some paint to get us down.
I think every member of your club and perhaps some of the fellas on this list ought to consider jumping in to help undo the damage done to his jeep. Make an estimate of the cost of the repaint, touch-up, or whatever and let us know.
His wife, who at the moment probably has some concerns about this new hobby of his, would be less concerned if she see's just what kind of support is out there for our fellow MVers.
I'd be willing to bet if everyone tossed in five, ten or twenty bucks he'd be squared away in no time. If he gets a little extra he can take his wife out to dinner and a movie. Hoo-ahh! Lets hear from you and your club.
And by the way, wouldn't the successful resolution of this vandalized jeep story make a tremendous and positive article for any MV enthusiast magazine?...hint hint.
Regards,
TJ Smith
