If you have the old style, manual turn signal control box(non-electronic),
then you may be able to repair it. The one on my Dad's M718 didn't work. I
removed it from the MUTT, removed the cover & checked all of the connections. There
is nothing but a few relays & a small flasher inside. The contacts on the
points on the relays get dirty/rusty & the flasher(the small brown bakelite
thingy) can be removed(it snaps in), the cover for it pulls off & you can even
clean those contacts!(this is where ours had the problem.) This is very basic
electricity that can be checked with an ohm meter.
You'll be shocked at how simple it is.
The manuals tell nothing about these flasher boxes & simply says to replace
it with a new one. I was pretty nervous about opening it up, but not anymore.
