I had an injector pump go bad on my M1009 once. It
ran fine but the pressure went way up and during start
up and any moderate acceleration it poured black smoke
like the big boys do under heavy load.
The socket is for sale from Snap-On and or Mac Tools.
I'll look at my socket to see which one it is and post
the number this AM. It is worth it's weight in gold
for 6.2 engines. You can also properly torque the
injectors when reinstalling.
There is a place here in Lafayette, LA that still
rebuilds pumps and injectors and they are a certified
Stanadyne facility. Last I checked an exchange pump
with military pressure was about $350 and the nozzles
(6 each) were about the same $. I can find and post
the number for them too when I post the tool part
number. It will also be available on-line form the
manufacture. More to come....
