about being contrary!
You have obviously had considerable real world experience with the CUCV
series family. Up in this end of the woods, RAM and George Manari have
probably gotten 60+ or so into private hands and my HMV club has a former
CW5 who ran the Ft. Devens Motor Pool until his retirement 12 years back or
so and we have another member who used to do 151s and changed over to
producing running vehicles from CUCV hulks (10+). These are the guys that
the NE part of the US CUCV owners go to for guidance.

functioning charging system or GP controller in it made me keep the
installed push button in it. I actually prefer ether. The M1009 I bought
last summer had already been converted to the push button on the advice of
CUCV gurus to the previous owner and he had operated it successfully for 4
years or so that way before I purchased it.
Now that I know Jeff has the GPC cards at non ebay prices, I'll probably
pick up a couple this spring when the weather warms up and try beating them
back to a parallel stock/manual button system, seeing that so many of you
'southern climate' folks are having so much success with maintaining the
stock system.
