Found this on another site. This will upgrade the older model with a single
airline to the newer two airline (service and emergency) system. I have not
tried it and do not know how accurate it is. Wayne

ps. It is easy to convert to a modern dual line system on the trailer. Add a
tank, and a RE6 (Relay Emergency Valve) The supply line charges the tank
through the RE6, then the service line controls the RE6 to allow tank air to
go to the brakes, (master cylinder in this case) and the air is exhausted
through the valve. If the supply line separates or the trailer brakes away,
the RE6 will use tank air to apply the brakes stopping the trailer. It can
also be used as a parking brake for a short while(not recommended for long
periods as minor air leaks will cause the brakes to gradually release) .
This last limitation could be overcome by adding a piggybacked spring brake
so the spring brake applies as the air bleeds off. The spring brake would be
plumbed into the tank directly so the spring is caged as long as there is
sufficient pressure. This prevents the spring and service brake from
applying at the same time(compunding the brakes) which can bend stuff. All
this would give you reliable parking brakes.
