While I don't own an M-151 or Hummer, I am very concerned about the MVPA's
action against these vehicles owners. If the leadership of the MVPA is this weak
willed on such an important issue, can we only expect worse in the future?
I am a new member of the MVPA but I am not new to people turning their back on
fellow enthusiast. I see the same mentality with some gun owners.
The local, state and federal government agencies have demonstrated their
inability to manage anything consistently and fairly at any level and that
includes the sale of military vehicles.
Our government is composed of great extremes from lenient agencies that sell
plutonium processors at auction to FBI leaders that issue kill on sight orders
in stand off situations.
Laws also vary from state to state about the legal ownership of vehicles and the
assembly of vehicles from components.
This is supported by several documented, legally owned M151s and Hummers, other
vehicles, tanks, aircraft, and weapons systems of all types.
If the MVPA does not stand strong and support all their members then I expect
that the whole organization and all collectors will suffer.
Don't forget that there will always be people who don't believe you should be
able to own a military vehicle. That person may even be the president of the
United States. If you don't protect your rights you will lose them.
I will boycott any event that is prejudice toward any legitimate military
vehicle owners.
