I am trying to place the correct markings back on my 51 M135 and need help.
This is my first Army vehicle, I have only done USMC vehicles in the past.
I started taking the paint off the door, and found the following: (1st
Line) TB-ORD 385 (2nd Line) Fort Bliss, Tex (3rd Line) 4/54. Any guess as
to what this means, other than it was at Fort Bliss at one time? The USA
number is 41121046. I believe that it is a fairly early M135, based on the
parts that are on it, and the info from the Tech Manual. On the rear
Bumperettes, I have found the following: (Right)(1st Line) X (2nd Line) 45,
was really unclear. Everthing else was easy to see. About all I can make
out of this is that it was assigned to the 4th Army. Can anyone elaborate
on this please. Also, if the 58-T doesn't make sense, please let me know.
By the way, I can't find any evidence on the doors or hood of stars. Did
some of these trucks not have the M-series stars on them? Any info would be
a great help.
Thanks,
Sean
