On your inquiry, I suggest that you contact Portrayal Press, PO Box 1190,
Andover NJ 07821 USA and get their catalog of books. There are several
survey books and many specific ones for particular vehicles. There are
other dealers in books as well; Portrayal has the largest collection,
mostly quality reproductions of the original.
Get the magazine called "Military Vehicles" which has many advertisements
of interest plus articles etc. They can be reached at SBI Inc, 12 Indian
Head Road, Morristown NJ 07960 USA. You can email them at
MVehicle@aol.com.
Finally, join the MVPA which is an international organization of people
interested in collecting and preserving all types of military vehicles and
other gear. They have a very nice web page at www.mvpa.org which includes
lots of other information for you.
Best regards,
chuck
I subscribed 6 months ago and since then, I've read many messages with
great interest. I'm not in the business of buying or restoring military
vehicles but perhaps someone can help me. For a while now I'm searching
for information about the use of vehicles in the U.S. Armed Forces.I'd
like to know which vehicles are used by the Armed Forces (small,medium and
large tactical vehicles; sedans,stationwagons and pick-ups;
tanktransporters; material handling equipment and construction equipment;
trailers and semi-trailers, etc...( I hope you'll know what I mean)). I've
already sent an E-mail to TACOM, ARDEC and other military organisations
but friendly as they are, they haven't replied yet. So I want to know if
someone can get the information I asked. If you want to know more about
the desired items, you can always mail or write me. I know the question is
a bit strange but I hope that their are a few good souls among you who
will say:" Well, I have the information and I will gladly share it with
you. Perhaps some they I will be able to help you.
Yours faithfully
Woubeir
PS: I'm interested in vehicles used by Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine
Corps
