I have to get this out of the way first:
I must agree with John Buckley, Fred Hopper, et al... We all have differe=
nt senses of humor, and we all have views on 'correctness'. And, I'm sure=
that the ad was posted prior to the known outcome of the A-10 pilot. But=
, there are some who find humor in the demise of others. I can remember =
the day that STS Challenger exploded, the jokes were out as soon as I got=
to work.
As a fellow pilot (civilian), and the brother of a pilot who was killed =
while flying his plane in Vietnam (1964) I find no humor in a fallen patr=
iot.
Now, if someone trips and falls out of their truck, that's a different =
story...
Enough of that.
Does anyone know:
What variety of wood is used on the decks of UNIMOG troop transports? I =
have a 1963 404.1 that needs repairs, and I'm looking for a suitable repl=
acement.
I am also looking for a good tire source. I need four Michelin, or equiva=
lent, 10.5R x 20 MPT, 8 or 10 ply, tires for the 'mog. They are uni-direc=
tional, with the 'broken-banana' tread design.
Thanks for the help!
Regards,
Dean E. McCahan
