The black knob on the dash is from the cold weather primer kit. This kit was
installed to assist in pushing fuel into the cylinders quicker so that the
engine did not have to be turned over for long periods of time. There were
three nozzles with small jets in them that were screwed into the intake
manifold. Then, a tee was installed in the main fuel line and connected to
the hand pump on the dash. The port on the top of the carb, drivers side was
connected to the crossover tube, and the other line on the crossover tube
went to the distributor. What it's intended purpose was I am not sure but
would like to know. Hope this helps. Regards, John
