Thanks for the info. It looked like a pretty straight-forward conversion, but
since I hadn't attempted it I wasn't sure. Do you know if both rear outputs
are always linked together internally, or is it possible to disengage one of
them? (My guess is no, otherwise it would render the parking brake useless).
I ask because if we set up my friend's 6x6 project with each rear output
feeding separate rear axles, it would be nice to be able to choose between
6x2, 6x4 & 6x6 (although I think most 6x6's run either 6x4 or 6x6).
BTW, do you have a M715? Is it all original or modified? Fully, partially or
un-restored? How complete is it in terms of body hardware -- tops, troop
seats, etc.?

I did this. I left the parking brake where it is, just put the bolts back
in with no flange (If I remember right). Then replaced the flange on the
upper rear output shaft with a yoke for the appropriate U-Joint size, I
converted to 1410 series. Works VERY well, no noise or heat, even cruising
at 70.
