There are, indeed, govt. auctions, and fairly frequently.
Go to the DRMS (Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service) Web site:
and wade through page after page of info about the military property
disposal program. Right now, look particularly at the on-line catalog
for sale number 31-7380. There are SCADS of M-35s on this sale, at
installations all over the country. The ones having the best looking
descriptions are located at Ft. Gillem, GA, near Atlanta. You can bid
on-line, but I would not recommend bidding blind unless you are a
confirmed gambler. Best to always inspect stuff before bidding on it.
Often stuff described in the sale catalog as "poor" is not really THAT
bad; conversely, stuff described as "fair" or "good" is sometimes not
that great.
BTW, bid opening for the sale mentioned above is 0900, 22 Jul 97, so you
gotta hurry to participate in it!
