Hi Mick, if the dynamo is original just get the local electrical shop
to check and rewind if necessary, it will probably just be bearings and
brushes, as both coils either work or they dont, so it would be totally
dead if either coil was open circuit. As for the gear lever gaiters I
always see hide on the early Jeeps and thats what I'd go for.

Before you hand it in for checking, do mark '6 VOLT' on it with some
paint marker, you wouldn't want it back rewound for 12 volt, would you
