[MV] O.D Paint - 2 questions

Hope someone can answer the following:
1) The book All American wonder refers to US Army O.D as being produced
by Ditzler with a reference nr. PPG 40973. I want to get the correct
colour made by a local paint company here in norway and they need the
equivalent 'Federal Standard' Index Nr.
Any suggestions ?
2) Does anyone know whether British army jeeps were resprayed to UK
colour specifications when they were taken over from the Amercicans
during WW2, or did the British army just paint unit markings and such on
top of the standard US olive drab ?
