The 230, 232 and 254 six cylinder engines all have the same flywheels, engine
mounts, etc. The differences are in the bore and stroke to achieve the
different displacements. The 232 and 254 engines were used across the
civilian Jeep product lines and may be found in used CJ's, Wagoneers and
Gladiators. Jeep V8's, including the 360 and 401 are adaptable to the same
transmission. A company called Advanced Adapters in Santa Ana, CA, offers
conversion kits to adapt other manufacturers V8's as well.
