Be careful using the double pin tow bar clevis. The military quit using the
double because it will break too easily when towing big stuff. They opted for
two sets of clevises; one small (3/4" dia. pin) for jeeps and one large ( 1"
dia. I think) for all the rest of the wheeled trucks. M715s use a special
large cast adapter to the large size. I just welded plate on both sides of a
standard 715 shackel and cut a hole in them the diameter of the pin that holds
the clevis to the tow bar giving me a more compact tow bar adapter for the
715. Plus I couldn't find a original set at the time. They can usually be
found at swap meets for $150 to $250.
