[MV] Grease method

I have a question for the guys using the grease method for freeing frozen
engines.Seeing that most engines the pistons come out the top and you pump
the grease in thru the top then what do you do after the piston skirt has
been driven into the bottom of the block if there is alot of pressure used
and if it only moved a bit then how do you 'pull' the piston out the top
when you still have a rust ridge or other crud in the way?
It seems that many people here are against the sledge hammer method. If you
use a block of wood and hit in the right spots then you will not have any
damage problems. You can never hit hard enough to equal the forces a motor
goes through when it is running and combustion takes place. And i do not mean
using a 20 pound sledge but rather a 2 1/2 pound blacksmiths type sledge and
control your blows.Don't go swinging wildly at it.
I have been building motors for 16 years and i have never destroyed one from
this method and i have never had a motor fail on me either.I have built bone
stock factory runners to methanol injected screamers.
Of course if you slip off the wood and the hammer hits the casting then you
will have dammage.Bottom line is common sense and knowing when you should
let someone else do the job.A wise person is one who knows their limits.
