Hey folks hows life? My M-43 has been running pretty good lately and I 've
been using it to go to rallys and car shows. But this past week has seen it
coughing and hesitating and blowing black smoke. It stalled four times on the
way home from a car show on saturday (always at the busiest
intersections!).It would'nt restart because the carb was flooding. And after
running for a bit it would just die again.I would pull the fuel line from
the filter, remove the air filter and crank it just to dry it all out.I
finally limped home with the throttle pulled out to stop it dying again.I'm
betting its a float /needle valve problem. I inspected the floats for holes
about six months ago so I can't figure out why it would go bad recently.I'll
take the carb apart again but if it aint the floats or needle what else
should I look at? I'm getting a good spark and the fuel pump is definitely
working (my gas soaked t-shirt can attest to that!). Thanks for any
advice
