Dear List,
I am wanting to put together a list of surviving 1/2 ton Command cars
[all models]. If you have any information on individual units like the
serial number, DOD, and condition please email me at dbever2@juno.com.
Also I have a couple of guestions concerning my 1/2 ton Command car.
There is a tag mounted on the right side of the firewall right on the
very top where the rear edge of the hood would rest. The tag has the
numbers 4119 18587. I have one suggestion that this might be a body
serial number put there by Dodge or a sub-contracter if the body units
were subleted out. The serial number on the frame is 8159530. The glove
box door is missing so no DOD. The engine serial number is P20*592630 I
think this may be a civilian engine. Does anyone know how the WWII engine
serial #s read? Thanks for your assistance.
