There was a 24V starter for the MB. It was part number A-17464. It was a
Auto-Lite MBW-05. (Generator for it was Auto-Lite GCF-0101A) It was
designed for a MB variant for the Navy in late 1945.
The generator you had probably was a AMCO unit.
