Re: [MV] New gas

I have a water injection unit on a Chevy 350 - 11:1 compression ratio. =
It
works to prevent detonation under load. But it definitely cuts into HP,
since it cools the burning charge in the cylinders. If you have a high
compression engine, it is an effective way to get by. We had a brief
discussion regarding the use of water injection a month ago or so and
someone else said that if you use ethanol instead of water, or use a mix,=

then the HP loss is negated. That might be something interesting to try=

out. With the system I have, I would go through about a gallon of
injection mix per 20 gallons of gas. If you can get ethanol pretty cheap=
,
that might be a good way to go. Better gas is preferable to the injectio=
n
solution, but racing gas at $3 a gallon is too much for me. Actually the=

engine can get by on 93-94 octane premium, but just barely.

Let us know if you try this out. Actually I should try this out! I've
already got the unit. (:->)
