Indiana license code is surprising brief regarding CDL licensing and
requirements since it piggy backs onto the federal rules and the states
just seem to follow the fed guidelines. In Indiana many farmers have the=

own semi's to haul grain and supplies. No CDL required, just big license=

fees. However if you ever haul an oversize load, like over 8'6" wide the=

a permit is required and a CDL is required. That is if you get caught! =

saw a farmer hauling a 16+ ft wide folding disk down a two lane road the
other day on a flatbed. It required some tricky driving so the disk didn=

take out all of the road signs when oncoming cars passed him I was behi=

him. Needless to say, I didn't pass him. =
