Back to US vehicles... have a small problem with my GPW... 6 Volt....
A few months ago I had a short and some of the wiring burnt out -
fortunately got the problem under control before too much else went up in
smoke... however I've had starting problems ever since... Is it likely that
the battery got blasted by the short ?
The Jeep runs nicely once started, however starting is usually only achieved
by a tow, or the starting handle... the Ammeter never shows more than +5 for
charging whilst running, and leaving the battery on charge overnight makes
no difference.
To my mind the battery must be the problem... however there maybe a few of
you who are Jeep experts with other ideas... before I spend out on a new
battery.
Any advice here would be gratefully received.
