Gene,
When I want to time an engine that has the waterproof ignition like on your
MUTT, I diconnect the wire from the # 1 plug and insert a piece of brazing
rod into the plug and push the spring that's on the plug wire onto it. Some
electrical tape might need to be wrapped around the rod to stop it from
shorting against the plug. Connect the timing light to the rod. I usually
use a seperate 12 volt battery to power the light, though I guess you could
connect to one of the MUTT's batteries, the grounded one.
