Listers, dave, & phil
I just had to find a way to replace the rivets on the lower hinged fender
section on my WLA. I have no way of squashing steel rivets, and I didn't really
want to use aluminum aircraft rivets, so I used the carriage bolt trick. I
chucked them in the lathe, and cut the head to as close as possible to match.
Then used the Belt/Disk sander (FLoor model) to trim it the rest of the way. Cant
tell the diff, unless you look underneath. And best of all, its removable now,
and will be a heck of alot easier to paint as two parts, as compared to a hard to
handle hinged piece.
Just my 2 cents worth.
