Thanks for responding. I got the production figure of 120 from a letter I
have (to the previous owner) from the pres. of chenowth racing products. He
researched my serial no. and determined that it was the "116th one produced
of an origional production run of 120". So 120 were obviously built. What
I don't know is how many (if any) were built after the 1982 run. Emerson
Defense Systems had the contract to supply the origional units, and they
contracted Chenowth to produce them. Any one know how many more were
produced? If there were more, they wouldn't have been called SFAV's though,
as the S stands for "surogate" indicating it was a pre production run, or
preliminary run, etc. Webster defines surogate as "not the real thing", as
in "surogate mother".
