I have a "53" M-37 with an engine problem that I can not
solve. This vehicle went through a total rebuild about four years ago.
Always has run like a clock until last October. When returning from a
short run the engine began to miss a little. Now this motor up till this
time had been as smooth as silk. I have been working on this problem now
for the last 6 months and have made no head way at all as a matter of
fact it has gotten worse! This is what I have done to correct the
problem.
1. New plugs (no change)
2. New ignition wires (no change)
3. New rotor, points, condense, and cap (no change)
4. Pulled head looked for cooked valve, perfect inside (no
change)
5. Checked manifold for vacuum leaks None (no change)
6. Replaced carburator ( no change)
7. Drained all fuel replace with fresh (no change)
8. Checked electrical system 27.5 volts at idle
9. Checked timing and distributor advance more times than I
can count
I really need help on this one!! I always thought I was a
good mechanic but this has me totally stumped.
Any suggestion would be appreciated!
Thanks
Van
