Hi everyone, I just joined today.
I'm 13, and I really like MB's, M151's, deuce and a halfs and HMMWV's.
Back 10 or 15 years ago, my Mom bought a 1948 Willy's jeep. It hasn't run in
5 years or so. She said I could have it, so right now me and my Dad our in
the process of restoring it, right now, we're focussed on just getting it
running. It's in fairly good condition, gettting a little rusty though. We're
putting rust-proof primer on as soon as we grind some of the rust off. Then
all we have to do, pretty much is change the alternator to 12 volts, coil,
battery, points and plugs, then I may be allowed to drive it around our 7
acres. Then when I get my license, on the road.
The canvas top dry rotted and was torn several years ago. Does anyone know
where I could get another one, [When I get the money saved up] and for what
price, or if I could use a Jeep Wrangler canvas top or one off another type
jeep, and modify it to fit on the Willy.
