A few months ago I asked one of these "hot shot" specialty delivery =
guys,=20
what they did on the homeward bound leg. Mentioned moving a jeep. He =
said=20
that most of them "dead head" going home and would be happy to carry a =
jeep=20
for "gas money" to get home. He said to go to "truckstop.com" and enter =
your=20
needs. Also said that the "Flying J" Truck Stops had a similar system. =
Put=20
that you need 2,000 pounds moved from Baltimore to San Francisco. =
According=20
to this driver, it may take a few hours to a day, but somebody will get =
back=20
to you. They may want to deliver it to San Jose, but that's closer =
than=20
Baltimore.
I haven't tried this system, but it seems like it would work. You see =
a=20
whole lot of empty trailers going up and down the road. Good Luck =
Tom=20
