[MV] DRMS Bidding and M35's (long)

Last month I managed to convince my wife that there are practical
uses for an M35 and she gave the go-ahead for me to bid on one at
the next DRMS auction. This last auction had 7 M35A2's and a few
M52's. I placed a floating bid on all trucks with the hope of get-
ting any one of the lot. The bidding period ended a week ago so on
Monday I called up the DRMO head office trying to find out if I
was lucky enough to win a bid on one. There is a local auction
ending in a couple of days and I wanted to make sure I didn't get
a winning bid on a truck before I placed any more bids on the
local one. DRMS was nice enough to tell me that I did not get any-
thing but what they they did tell me got me mad. All ten trucks
were won by the same company! I hate it when big businesses step in
and grab all the good stuff. To add insult to injury when I got
home last night I found a letter in my mail from DRMS saying I
needed to fill out the attached End Use Certificate and fax it back
to them quickly. So this morning I called up the person in DRMS
that had sent me the letter and informed them that since I had not
won anything I did not see a reason to send it in as I would have
to spend a couple of bucks to fax it to them for no reason at all.
My heart beat jumped when the person told me that I did win the bid
on the item I wanted! (And here I went and spend half of the money
I had set aside on a new computer Monday afternoon. My old on was a
P150 that was four years old and could not keep up with what I was
trying to do with it.) I therefore had to explain to her about what
I was told the day before. She told me that the paper work that was
sent to her said I was the winner but had to get the proper forms
returned in order to get the truck. Since there was now some
confusion on whether I won anything or not she was going to have to
call me back later to confirm what was going on. Since I had to go
to work I had to wait till I got home this evening to hear the
message she had left for me on my answering machine. It turned out
that the info from Monday was correct and I did not get anything at
all. She was very apologetic for the confusion and explained what
had happened. Oh well, hopefully this guy will run out of money soon
and won't be able to grab up all of the trucks at the next auction.
The only other DRMO within 2,000 mile is about 360 miles away and
rarely gets M35's that make it to the auction stage.
