Before you start screaming - not Military Vehicle related... this IS... if
you collect British Signals gear... it as related as the type of Gun you'd
carry on your Jeep.
(My apologies if you disagree... I dont want to get into a longwinded
discussion on list ... thus if you disagree and need to tell me so - please
do so OFF List - Thanks).
I have for sale (in England) ONE portable British Military Telephone
switchboard, These were carried in British Signals trucks to be used in
mobile field HQ's.
The unit is MINT and controls up to 12 phones... and takes two people to
lift.
Essentially it is like a chinese box... the outer case is up-ended once the
content is removed.... this then forms a platform onto which the switchboard
(the content) is mounted - it then sits at a comfortable desk height. The
unit consist of an upper board (vertically) with "dollys" which show white
when a call comes in... beneath which (horizontally) are two rows of plugs -
one to call - the other to answer.... infront of those there are two rows of
switches to call, ring and two other settings I cant remember off the top of
my head... It is complete with headset (includes speech horn) and wiring
circuit diagrams - I may be able to offer it complete with 12 Model J or F
Phones.... subject to availability.... one human operator NOT included.
If anyone wants any further information, please contact me off list.
Again - my apologies if you feel this is not MV related... These were
carried in British Signals trucks as issue kit.... and were the mainstay of
a field HQ.
Cheers
Tim
