When you live in such a climate these particular problems become part of the
design requirement. It has regular electric start and HP air start from
external cylinders together with a fuel oil engine bay heater. The later post
war developments had the HP start air stored internally
Even the gas engines used by the British mil in the 50's - 70's were fitted in
manufacture with Ki-Gas manifold injection start systems for arctic service.
