Hi List,
Thanks for everyone's help on my starter bendix question. Today at lunchtime I found a complete Auto-Lite MZ-4113 starter, which I was able to trade big U-joints for. When I got it home I found out it had ten teeth instead of nine like the one that came out of my 1945 MB. I can not find a serial tag on the broken one. The MZ-4113 came out of a 1946 CJ2A that I have been scrounging parts from. The new 97 tooth ring gear that I installed less than a year ago is already getting chewed up. My question is: Which bendix is correct, the ten or the nine tooth?
