Depending on what type of connector you have there, it could be an accessory
spotlight for an aircraft. These plug into receptacles for use on aircraft.
If you could post a digital photo, I could tell you more. Grimes is an old
aircraft lighting company, which I believe still makes aircraft lights. I
have several pieces of WWII aircraft lighting made by them.
