[MV] Jeeps on History Channel

Concerning the flawed History Channel program that was broadcast last week on
Jeeps: One other area that I thought was in error has not been discussed on
the list. I need an expert clarification.
Throughout the program Willys was pronounced as Willy's, as in something
belonging to Willy. My dad and others of his age always pronounced it as
Willis. In fact we knew an old gentleman who was a Willys-Overland dealer and
he pronounced it Willis. I've also known owners of such cars as Willys-Knight
and they pronounced it as Willis.
As such, hearing Willy's kind of makes my skin crawl. Have we been wrong all
these years?
