Folks, my new M998 HMMWV has the 200A alternator kit. The alternator
seems to cut in and out with an audible relay "clack", causing the
indicated battery voltage to jump between low-yellow and high-green on
the battery meter. Is this normal behavior for a lightly-loaded 200A
alternator? If so, would it be advisable for me to temporarily replace
it with the regular 60A alternator until I have enough electrical
equipment in the truck to require the larger alternator?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
