What kind of armor? Surface hardened like on a 1/2 track.
I have been told it can be welded with stainless. This was of course after I
mig-ed up a crack on the M4A1.
I was advised to drill ahead of the crack to relieve any pressure so that it did
not continue to crack. I had no luck drilling, too hard. So I used a 41/2 inch
cutting wheel and ground a "V" on both sides of the armor along the crack and a
little past the end of the crack to relieve the pressure. This was about a year
ago and so far the steel weld has held up.
