I guess I have to disgaree
In a CCKW manual, they stated that the engine was replaced every 10k miles.
The little 270 does work its heart out.
Having said that, when I got my 1st CCKW it had 28 k on the clock with a
givmint rebuilt engine in it replaced some # of miles before I bought it.
I immediately started using (at the 1st changing) HD motor oil: Castorol
(sp) I ran
the engine another 50k miles and all I did to it was do the valves. When I
stopped
using it about 2 years ago, it was just getting tired and still not burning
any oil.
I will admit that they do seem to leak a lot more oil with the HD than with
non-D
If I had an engine that was soo gunked up inside from ND oil, well I guess I
would
just rebuild it or replace it. Its gonna give up soon anyway.
I only use Castorol in all my vehicles.
