Chrysler industrial engine timing chain Question

        I have a question about the timing chain on my Dodge APT. The manual
says to replace the chain if there is more than 3/4 inch deflection at the
mid point of the chain. I checked mine and I have about 1/2 inch. Is this
any where near what the new specification would be? I have not been able to
find what the deflection would be on a new chain. Thanks in advance for any
leads or links.
