Stu
The only thing we were able to do to help rust problem is constant washing,
paying particular attention to seams, bolts,. joints. Any scratches must be
cleaned and repainted, -- however in fertilizer plant conditions we never
were more than minimal successful, the conditions were so bad we even got
glass damage from dust that etched glass - not as an abrasive but from acid
content of some of the materials.
We built a wash rack for cars and pickup trucks, arch with nozzles all
around vehicle and two pipes you drove across, 8 gpm, switches that turned
spray on as you drove through arch. we still got rust.
I live in west Tennessee where we do not get a lot of conditions that call
for salt on hwy in winter, and I have been away from fertilizer for over 20
years but my every day driver still requires lots of attention to prevent
rust starting in wheel wells.
I have no solution, wish I did, I could retire and have all the OD stuff I
want......
